About the show
Bald, bad-tempered and bolshie, Victor Meldrew might be old and pensioned off, but he is not prepared to take insults, sloppiness or stupidity lying down. His favourite phrase, “I don‟t believe it!” greets every new catastrophe and, being Victor, the smallest thing can assume epic proportions.
In the fourth series of the much-loved sitcom, Victor is aggravated by a neanderthal gardener, employed to sort out the stray roots problem in his garden; Margaret collapses from exhaustion and has to suffer Victor's idea of 'loving care'; and a chance encounter with oppressed residents at a home for the elderly leads Victor to hatch a liberation plot.
